New Board Member – Lula-Bell
Fire and Ink welcomes its newest Board Member. We are excited to welcome aboard Steven J. “Lula-Bell” Fields . He is a multicultural mental health counselor, writer, music/food/arts enthusiast, sexual health educator, mentor, “mother” and a “comprehending vs. reading” spiritual development guide. Born and raised in the Missouri Bootheel, Lula earned a bachelor of general studies with a double minor in psychological services and social work from Southeast Missouri State University, and a master’s of education in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. With over eight years of customer service and community leadership, and more than three years working in HIV-related services, Lula has served as secretary of St. Louis Black Pride, worked in higher education, been “raised as an elder in the gay Black Village,” and established communal healing spaces in both Southeast Missouri and the St. Louis metropolitan area.
